Sometimes a Cigar is Just a Cigar

The saying “sometimes a cigar is just a cigar” is often attributed to Sigmund Freud, the father of psychoanalysis. It means that sometimes, things are not always as complicated as they seem. In the case of

cigars, this means that they can be enjoyed for their simple pleasures, without having to overthink them.

There is a lot of pressure in today’s world to be constantly doing something. We are constantly bombarded with messages telling us that we need to be more productive, more efficient, and more successful. This can be exhausting and overwhelming.

One way to take a break from all of this is to enjoy a cigar. Cigars are a great way to relax and de-stress. They can help you to clear your mind and focus on the present moment. For me I like to turn on some music, fire up my cigar and tune out the rest of the world.

When you smoke a cigar, there is no need to think about anything else. You can simply enjoy the taste, the aroma, and the feeling of the smoke on your palate. You can take your time and savor each moment.

There is no need to take pictures of your cigar or write an in-depth review. Just enjoy it for what it is: a simple pleasure. -Note the irony here is not lost on me, I literally just took a picture for this post. Should I be working on a blog post while I’m trying to de-stress and relax? Probably not but that’s just how I do haha!

Of course, there is nothing wrong with learning more about cigars or sharing your experiences with others. But it is important to remember that the most important thing is to enjoy the cigar itself.

So next time you are feeling stressed or overwhelmed, take a break and enjoy a cigar. You won’t regret it.
